Mozambique
Below is the initial information for my trip to Mozambique in the fall of 2010. The trip was fantastic, I grew and experienced so very much of God. There are exciting things coming in the days ahead. Stay tuned for the journey.
For several months now I have been praying about the next step of my life, the where and what of my calling. That answer came through the form of Harvest school of Missions in Pemba, Mozambique. The school is run by Iris Ministries and Heidi and Rolland Baker, missionaries to the country of Mozambique and the world.
The school is a 3 month program based out of one of Iris’ ministry centers in Pemba. I tried to write a fancy, well-worded explanation but I found this on their site, so I think it will do:
To put it simply, I know God has called me to be trained at this school. I know what to expect and at the same time, I have no idea what to expect. I am so ready to be a part of a community like this, that can train me to walk in the calling God has given me. I’ll be in Mozambique from the first week of October through the end of December, with a possible two day trip to safari in South Africa. As the school is quickly approaching, I have so many things to get done and a lot of money to fundraise.
Fortunately, I am not independently-wealthy and am totally dependent on God and others to supply all of my needs. I say fortunately, because I believe this puts me in a place of radical trust and also enables the body of Christ to engage with what God is doing. My needs for this journey total around $6,500 and are due very quickly. Here is a quick breakdown:
- $200 deposit due within 10 days of acceptance. August 24th.
- $2,700 tuition/fees due by September 8th.
- Flight can be purchased any time… approx $2,100
- $20-50 Mozambican visa
- $1,300 for personal supplies, living expenses while in Mozambique
While the trip is expensive, I know that God is a great provider and will take care of every penny. In the coming months I will host a few car-washes, be speaking at churches and also sending support letters to friends and family. If you have any ideas on how I can raise the funds, please let me know. If you would like to donate and help, you can do so by clicking HERE. You may also mail a check or money order to Chris Hadsell: 680 18th Street NW Cleveland, TN 37311.
I appreciate your support and help much more than I can express in mere words.
Learning to get lower still,
Chris
